Flicker World Tour Manila 2018

Disclaimer: Detailed content ahead.

A live version feels so much gratifying to hear.

Last June 10 my sister and I really pushed our luck to watch Niall Horan’s concert in MOA Arena but, beforehand we told ourselves not to expect much since we hate disappointment (for not getting the tickets).
The weather was a pain in Manila; it was raining since the crack of dawn and it didn’t stop all day. I actually thought that it’s going to be canceled because of the bad weather forecasts circulating. Our cousin who’s in fact meant to attend it –since she bought her ticket way before the concert day made sure to build-up excitement by vlogging the entire time, whereas my sister and I will find and take our chances to get a great deal for tickets with great seats (I’ll discuss more of this later; how & where we got our tickets).

I think it was already 5PM when we arrived at the arena and of course we went straight to the entrance way to check if the line is already long. To my surprise no one was shouting their lungs out or someone running past us to fall in line. Because of the bad weather it was a great decision for some fans (including us) to line up when it’s time for the security to let people in since it’s a reserved seating (nobody wants to get in line under the rain and get soaked before the concert duh).

In the meantime we decided to roam around at the mall and have dinner as we arrived earlier than expected. By the time we’re done wasting time I was hoping that everything goes as planned when going back to the arena.
Now, the story of how we got our tickets. We bought it from a scalper outside the arena and before you go react like wild cats, it was a last minute decision to buy the tickets because he was selling it for half of the original price of the ticket and the seating was a cherry on top! It was a great deal so there you go.

Don’t worry I am very much aware of the consequences from buying to a scalper, good thing our moms where there and we made sure that we got inside first, also just to make sure that the tickets were in fact legit before they handed the payment to the seller. (Thank you Nanays!)

~side note~ please buy at your own risk. I know scalpers are always roaming around the arena every time an event comes along to sell some tickets and it’s always tempting to buy from them because of the discounts and finer seats but, make sure to ask them such information like how legitimate their sources of tickets are or check the ticket for any hints of con. However, it’s still better to buy in ticket offices instead where you will feel safer and comfortable to spend thousands of money.

Going back…

It was such an intense moment waiting to hear that beep sound when the lady was scanning my ticket. My legs felt weak when we finally stepped inside the arena and it was like a breath of fresh air knowing the fact that wow we’re this close to seeing Niall perform, is this for real??? Feel free to look into my Flicker World Tour Instagramhighlights and you will see how hyped I was before, during, and after the concert.
We waited for another one and a half hour in our seats trying to put ourselves into a more calm and collected state. I was a tad disappointed that they didn’t play any One Direction song when people were piling up the seats and since we’re going to wait long before it actually starts. Can you really blame me? The opening act was like a pre-hysteria type of performance so as expected all my blood rushed through my body from dancing and singing along + it involved so much of Dua Lipa’s songs.
When the lights finally dimmed everybody freaking went crazy and in that exact moment my sister and I rushed down to my cousin’s row because FORTUNATELY the seats beside her were empty.

We. Were. A. Few. Meters. Away. From. Niall Horan.

I never knew the set list and I’m kind of thankful for it because I didn’t want to feel or know that the night is over soon. FYI I shed a tear when my favorite songs were played live. You didn’t disappoint us my love! Thank you for playing Drag Me Down & Fools Gold ©

5 SECONDS OF SUMMER // SOUNDS LIVE FEELS LIVE MANILA

I can't believe I'm writing this a month after of the concert.

(Note: Imagine me stating the first part of this paragraph in a very calm voice then crying in the near end) I still can't breathe. I can't believe they REALLY came. After freaking five years, hello Shauna, dreams really do come true. To be honest I've tried my hardest not to do a blog post about the concert because I'm still having a hard time reminiscing what happened that day because every time I do, I get disappointed. WHY DID IT END SO SOON.

That day started off pretty normal, well, besides the fact that I stayed the night before at my block mates house because we had to do some editing for our project. I was literally excited to go home, change into my concert clothes and yet again lose my concert virginity but this time to 5SOS.
When I got home and already fixing the things I'll be bringing with me, I realized that I forgot my charger lying on top of the table at my friends house. My excitement turned to hopping mad real quick. I won't share what happened after because it's stupid. Hay Shauna and her stupid problems.

Fast forward to when we're outside the arena...
I think we arrived three hours early before the actual concert and boy the place was already packed with people. As we walked closer and closer to the arena I felt myself getting notably excited once again.

This was the moment I had been waiting for. My adrenaline went of the roof. The time had finally come that I would get to see and hear my favorite band play their song live after five years of waiting.
As we gradually made our way to our correct seat section the first sight I saw was a large arena filled with thousands of people. All the seats inside were full as well as the people in the VIP section. I found myself in a state of amazement because it wasn't until I got to my seat that I finally heard the sound of the speakers pierce my ears —that was a sweet hymn of music that I live for.

I couldn't take my eyes off the stage. Though was agonizingly too small for my liking giant speakers were all over the place and I was a hundred percent sure that I could still see them.
As the dark stage was filled with smoke and spotlights flashing through the stage, all of us yelled at the top of our lungs. When we heard the sound of a piano, it was time, the band slowly started their intro. Writing this part gives me goosebumps oh my god no. MEMORIES. PLEASE BRING ME BACK TO SOUNDS LIVE FEELS LIVE MANILA. I wish everyday is #SLFLMNL.
As the glorious concert went on, they played many of my favorites songs —Disconnected being one of them. I actually almost cried whilst singing it. Soon after I realized that I was actually standing, jumping, singing, crying, shouting stupid things and dancing at a 5SOS concert. It came to a point where I cringed because just last year I was crying for a concert ticket and now I'm with a bunch of strangers having so much fun.

The level of sound was astronomical. Every time the drum was struck I could feel the repercussion within my chest! The vibration that each music they produced felt like current passing through my body —that literally made me dance and jump like a freaking maniac.
When the final song was over and 5 Seconds of Summer was off the stage. The lights abruptly came on. Everyone started to leave the arena. I still wanted to hear more of them live, but just as they had to come out they then left in the same way.

Obviously it was an awesome experience and I hope that I can attend one again. Is it just me or do you also feel that my blog post is too calm?...

ONE DIRECTION l OTRA MANILA 2015

Last Sunday was one of the best nights of my life. I went to my first ever concert and it wasn't just any concert -it was One Direction's concert! I officially lost my concert virginity to them (what a way to tell it though). As I write this, nearly eleven hours after the concert has ended and I can still feel the adrenaline and excitement . I can't believe I actually attended and fought with the rain just to see and hear them live.
All of the Filipino fans have waited four years for this concert to happen and it did! Not to mention only four members performed in the two day concert (oh, Zayn :(), but gladly enough it was still pushed through.
Of course One Direction is NOT One Direction if there's a missing member. "We want Zayn" was being chanted from time to time that made some moments very dramatic (Go Drama Club). I did cry when they sang  my favorite songs. I know I was being overly dramatic, but the feels came through me without warning.
Proud enough to say I enjoyed my time even though I was a little bit far from the stage. Thanks to the screen that was right in front of me I saw their lovely faces. Philippines is one heck of a lucky country!

"manila .. that was a badass show...really enjoyed it...crowd was sick" -Niall Horan

"Manila that was huge :) I thank you very much" -Liam Payne

"Manila, we were amazed by you last night. Hope tonight is more of the same. H" -Harry Styles
